A quiet way of giving back.
Kipungani Village Primary School — a long, slow piece of work, ongoing for years.
001 · Intent
Rooted in Kipungani. Growing with Kipungani.
Our dhow, Kilindini, was built here. Our makuti is dried here. Our staff walk home here. Kipungani is not a project for The Cabanas, it is the village we belong to.
If you stay with us, a quiet portion of your bill funds our work with the village.
002 · Kipungani Primary School
The school by the Baobab tree.
Just beyond us, Kipungani Village Primary School carries the daily hopes of the island’s children.
We have supported the school in the ways that felt most useful and lasting: solar power for the classrooms, fans that can keep turning through the heat, internet from The Cabanas, and a computer room where pupils can begin to explore a world beyond the island.
It is a beginning, not a finished story. There is much more we want to help with — and we are committed to finding practical, thoughtful ways to keep supporting the school and the community around it.
003 · Practical support, quietly given
Quiet Support real impact.
Computer room
We helped create a computer room so children can begin learning digital skills from their own village school.
Solar Power
We installed a solar system for Kipungani Village Primary School, bringing reliable power to classrooms that need it every day.
Internet access
A wireless link from The Cabanas to the school next door — research, learning, connection.
Cooler Classrooms
That power helps keep the fans running through the heat, making the school rooms cooler and easier to learn in.
004 · How to give
If you would like to help.
A portion of every stay quietly funds this work, you don't need to do anything. If you would like to give directly, or to visit the school during your stay, write to us. We will arrange both.
Get in Touchasante sana — thank you.
